During our tour on Day One, we were shown another example of Inca stone art…The sculpture on the right was carved from an existing boulder and recreated the mountain behind the stone. It was too foggy to see the mountain from the perspective of the boulder so I included its photo, taken a little later. In their language, this mountain was called “New Mountain,” as contested with Machu Picchu, which means “Old Mountain.”
